Jonathan Lucas
Former JET Programme ALT, Shizuoka
2016-2019

Jonathan is from Virginia, USA where he graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in physics. Jonathan joined the JET Program for 3 years where he taught Science Communication English at a municipal high school in Shizuoka. After the JET Program, Jonathan joined the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau where he currently works in digital marketing strategy as well as LGBTQ+ tourism.

Anna Ayvazyan
Former JET Programme ALT, Hyogo (Himeji)
2017-2022

Anna grew up in Sydney, Australia with Armenian roots. She holds a double degree in International Relations and Marketing from Western Sydney University, as well as an MBA from Doshisha University in Kyoto. After completing her undergraduate studies, she joined the JET Programme and spent five years teaching English and global studies at a senior high school in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. Alongside her teaching role, she held volunteer leadership positions, first as the prefectural chair of Hyogo AJET, and later as the national chair of NAJET. Following her time on the JET Programme, Anna pursued an MBA with a focus on marketing. She now works as the Head of Overseas Marketing and Advertising at a Uji-based Japanese company specializing in matcha and Japanese condiments.

Kenley Brust
Former JET Programme ALT, Toyama (Himi)
2021-2023

Kenley is from California, USA, and grew up with a love for everything Japanese. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in Global Economics, he joined the JET Program as an ALT in Toyama prefecture. After his time on JET, Kenley moved to Kyoto to pursue an MBA degree at Doshisha University, where he is now a 2nd year student. In addition to being an MBA student, Kenley is also a tour guide in Kyoto and is participating in the Japan Market Expansion Competion (JMEC).
Secretary
Olivia Clarke
Former JET Programme ALT, Hyogo
2017-2020

Olivia is originally from Melbourne Australia, with a degree from Monash University in journalism. After joining the JET Programme in 2017, Olivia worked as an ALT in a local Board of Education, before moving into the tourism sector, and then onto her current role in Global Mobility and Relocation. Serving as JETAAWJ Co-Chair from 2022-2024, Olivia is now serving as the Secretary for the 2025-6 year.
